I have been away living in the uk for several years and am so impressed with the progress and the dedication of the countess Maori people (Whanau) who i know of that have worked so hard behind the scenes preparing what has come to pass concerning the land issues, that will never be mentioned for their efforts. Te Roopu o Muriwhenua Incorporated brings together the five iwi throughout Muriwhenua Rohe. These are Ngati Kuri, Te Aupouri, Ngai Takoto, Ngati Kahu and Te Rarawa.
OUR KAUPAPA
a. To research, foster & learn History, Tikanga & Te Reo unique to Muriwhenua (Muriwhenuatanga)
b. Strengthen links between Whanau, Hapu, Iwi & Marae within Muriwhenua
c. To promote positive Health and Wellbeing
d. To be positive role models for Tamariki, Whanau, Marae, Hapu, Iwi and the wider community
e. To support kaupapa maori within our rohe of Muriwhenua and the wider community of Te Tai Tokerau
