The Little Tree Studio unit is nestles privately behind Big Tree Lodge and is in Methven Mt Hut Village close to the Mt Hutt Ski Field and are an easy drive to Porters Pass and the Canterbury "Clubfields" which are ski areas operated by small ski clubs for their members however anyone is welcome (Mt Olympus, Broken River and Craidieburn).
Besides skiing, there are plenty of other activities available including hot air baloon rides, tandem sky diving, golf, abseiling, horse riding, cycling, serious tramping, fishing and many mountain & bush walks.
Within easy 5-10mins walking distance of little Tree Studio are several bars and coffee shops. The Paradiso Art House Movie Theatre puts on extra shows on bad weather days. The i-site visitor centre is in the main street and has 3 ski and snowboard shops close by. This unique village is surprisingly well endowed with 2 supermarkets, galleries, an indoor skate park, book shop, laundromat and a gymnasium. Methven has many eateries, most of which are 5 minutes from our backpacker lodge. We think Dom's is terrific (the chicken/cranberry pizza is to die for) and the pubs & restaurants are pretty good too!
