Te Rp Takawaenga Mori o Aotearoa is the national body of Resource Teachers and Advisers of Mori known as NARTAM. This service has been operating since 1975. It has helped the education sector develop what is recognised world wide as progressive. Mori education programmes ranging from education totally in Te Reo Mori to Mori language programmes in mainstream schools.
There are 19 Advisers and 55 RTMs. The Advisers are employed by the Colleges of Education and the RTMs are based in Primary Schools... We are all trained teachers with skills in Te Reo me ona Tikanga Mori.
Our team actively promotes the revitalisation and maintenance of Te Reo Mori me ona Tikanga in schools throughout Aotearoa.
We are dedicated to working towards the revival and development of Te Reo Mori and to raising the achievement levels of all Mori children in schools.
