Is your website making you money?
Most business websites are designed to either sell products directly or to generate enquiries for your business. If this isn't happening there is normally a good reason why. To make your website work for you, you need to have four things working together...
1. Your website must be able to be found by Google
By this we mean that when someone searches for a product or service that you provide, your website should appear on the first page. Googling the name of your business does not count! That only works if people already know who you are, this is all about attracting new customers. There are two ways to be found on Google, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM). To find out more about how this works, go to our website now.
2. Your website must be easily useable
Your website must be easy to read (use plain English and simple sentence structures) and easy to navigate through. There are standards to website design that have evolved. This means that people expect certain things (like menu's) to be in certain places. If you put them in different places you will make you site hard to use. People will then leave your site without making that enquiry or buying your products.
3. Your website must have a clear purpose
What do you want to do with your website? Do you want to sell products online with an e-commerce site? Do you want to generate warm leads so a salesperson can call? The entire structure of your website is based around these decisions and it must be clear. When you have decided what you want, we build a 'conversion pathway' to make sure that your website fulfils the desired results. Once you have decided what you want your website to do, contact us and we will make it come to life.
4. Your website must be properly built
Behind the scenes, the code your website is built from needs to be clean and up to date. If Google finds it too hard to read your website then it will stop trying. If that happens you will end up on page two hundred and five and that does not make you easily findable! Also there is no point building a website with code that is bloated and about to be made redundant. This makes your page slow to load, appear differently in different browsers and inaccessible to people with disabilities. To learn more about how your code should work go to the W3C (they set the standards). The websites we build adhere to the latest standards and are easy for Google (and others) to read.
