Won't waste my time again. Went for drinks with friends last night and had to deal with the mega attitude that just gives bar staff a bad name. The two dicks behind the bar really should find other jobs. If I owned this bar, I would be horrified at the stuck up attitude and poor staff service. There is plenty of choice in Ponsonby, the Longroom won't be getting my hard earned $'s ever again. Btw, there were 26 of us in my group last night and due to the poor service, all 26 of us left and went elsewhere and would easily have spent over $3,000 in the evening. None of us will come back and they will all tell their friends, and so on...calculate how many people now think poorly of the Longroom. Good job guys!

First visit to the Longroom and will certainly be back. The service was not over-bearing but pleasantly attentive, with nothing being too much trouble. The prices are within range, while allowing you to enjoy that feeling that this is somewhere special. It was very quiet on the Sunday night that we went and that made for good conversation, which flowed as well as the wine - lots of choice. The mains were sumptuous. I opted for the lamb shank. Forgot to order a side of mash, which left me slight hungry at the end of the main, but the chocolate mousse and strawberry dessert was fantastic. A great night out at a great Ponsonby eaterie.

Great Experience! Went there beginning May 2011 for the first time and will definitely go again! Food was amazing, money well spent and also complements to the friendly and helpful staff!Will definitely advise people to go enjoy the lovely courtyard. Also really enjoyed the music and vibes later that night. You're def missing out if you havent been here!

Monday lunchtime, 3 diners, all ordered fish & chips, chips good, fish/batter, VERY greasy. Had to get to airport, but phoned later, "thanks for that, will get back to you", that was 9 days ago.... Thankfully was on 1/2 price promo, wouldn't have been happy to pay $22.00 for greasy fish. You see, I'm a local of 20 years, 5 minutes walk for me, didn't want anything in return, just thought a smart outfit would want to know, & have the courtesy to call back, as indicated. Bad manners so won't be revisiting.

Went to Longroom on Sunday 22nd August. Service was awesome, food was AMAZING. Highly recommend! Been here a few times and it has always been consistent. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. If you haven't been here yet you are missing out!!

The BEST mojito's in the city, great tapas and amazing breakfasts. 2nd best Salt and Pepper Squid in the city too, they're almost perfect!

Great party location, always buzzing! I haven't eaten a meal here but the bar food is fantastic and the platters are amazing! Great location for a private function - the short room is a perfect venue.

Excellent venue. Amazing platters and finger food. Great wine list and fantastic atmosphere. Friday and Saturday nights go off! There is also a private room you can hire (The Short Room) which is perfect for event. I'm having my 30th there and so far the service has been great! Long Room...place to be!

I spent an enjoyable night at the long room , I must admit I was impressed with the level of service , I spent most of the night in the courtard , and was regularly waited on , my order taken and supplied in very quick time , this gave me a favourable view of the bar , and avoided the soul destroying 'wait at the bar' for service. I highly recommend the establishment as a venue to take clients or those that are looking for a '1st date' venue then this is it.

We visited the Long Room for a meal and to have a few drinks. The waitress apologised as they turned the All Blacks rugby game on during our meal (she said they never normally show the rugby) - it was pretty loud but the boys enjoyed it! We really enjoyed the meals - it was definitley gastro pub style - everything was fresh, well presented and tasty! The cocktails were even better. Overall a good night out!
