Celtic Fiddle Lessons

Celtic fiddle lessons for adults: From beginners through to those who have learnt some violin and are interested in learning Celtic music (Irish and Scottish).

You learn by ear and by sheet music using Barb's tutor books and CDs. These have been carefully designed and organised to make learning quick and enjoyable.

Barb plays along with you so that the learning is close to the traditional method of learning by ear. Reading sheet music is taught as a memory aid.

Barb is classically trained and started learning the violin at 7 years of age. She has played in many different orchestras including the Auckland Symphony. She discovered Celtic music (and her heritage!) in the mid 1980's. She is a founding member of Twisty Willow Celtic Band which is still going strong after 20 years.

Barb has had master lessons with top Celtic fiddlers who have visited NZ as well as on trips to Ireland and Scotland.

She was a classroom teacher for more than 30 years and brings that wealth of teaching experience to the fiddle lessons.
