Stayed here a couple nights while in methven. Really enjoyed it, great place with friendly people. Facilities were great, was able to do washing and loved the large showers. Thank you. I will be back some day for sure!!

happenned to came across Big Tree Lodge by chance, & glad i did. not too far a walk from town, the room i stayed in was warm & the bed comes with a thick(but soft) duvet. a few perks if you're watching your budget: free internet, washing, storage for skiing gears & a 15% disc on skiing equipments. p/s: the owner(Heather) is very motherly, in a good way =]

I’ve been staying at Big Tree for nearly two months now and am writing a review because Big Tree has only recently opened so it doesn’t have many reviews on the www and it deserves a few good ones. Big Tree has a core of “semi-permanents” mainly snow board instructors / keen snowboarders (you can get your board/skis tuned in the back) who keep a friendly warm lounge and kitchen communal space, easy-going but considerate vibe going and there is a stream of short term visitors mainly been here for skiing and snowboarding. So, the Lodge winter life is geared to making the most of the Mountain and slopes and having a friendly comfortable place to come back to.
