New Zealand artist, John Wolter, Wood Pigeon Art Studio is a homebased gallery/studio.
John Wolter was born in Gisborne, New Zealand, 1965. After extensive overseas travel and art studies at NMIT in Nelson, graduating 1997, Wolter now lives with his family on Kaiteriteri Road, 7km north of Motueka, in the Nelson Region, Sth Island.
Here Wolter works as a full time artist since 1998. In addition to viewing the paintings, sculptures and metal art work visitors are able to meet directly with the artist and to view artworks being produced.
The work process is quite dramatic at times as Wolter often is seen with a torch in his hand and showers of sparks around him.
"I am interested in design and playing with colours, so my work tends to be quite colourful. I look at any material as a "canvas" adding a dash of fun with rich colours and details, whether it is a cotton canvas or sheet of metal"
Enjoy the eclectic mix of artworks you will find at Wood Pigeon Art Studio, 50 min from Nelson City on the way to beautiful Kaiteriteri Beach between Nelson and New Zealand's Abel Tasman National Park.
Visitors are welcome to visit Wood Pigeon Art Studio online or in person and see the art of John Wolter and where it is created.
