Needing to relocate due to the earthquakes, the team at Soulstyle Organic Hair Salon are excited to announce their new premises at: 47 Rodney St South New Brighton. After three and a half successful years in Southshore, owners, DeAnna Lyons and Greg Campbell have built a notable reputation with their organic services and products.
The Soulstyle team are looking forward to recreating a haven for their cliental that travel for their specialised services and book from overseas, Wellington, Auckland and Tekapo, not to mention their many clients from all over Christchurch and their supportive locals. Situated away from the hustle and bustle of city life makes this a true destination salon.

Hi, I suffered from dermatitis of the scalp for years due to an allergic reaction to Deer Velvet tablets I took for a knee injury. Doctors told me there was nothing I could do about it and it would flare up and just to use a stingy clear lotion they provided when I needed relief. However I had the constant issue of dry flakey scalp all over my black clothes..so embarrassing. Then my dear friend Lou told me about SOULSTYLE organic colour. I went and saw the team and WOW no stinging during processing, great colour, that lasts ages and hair in great condition. so just wanted to say a huge THANKS and don't ever give up finding an alternative to chemical hair colours. Great salon, lovely friendly staff, and relaxing environment. cheers Tarn McL

I Found Soulstyle though the net while looking for organic hair dyes as I have had a few really bad trial,errors and horrific experiences with Dye reaction s on my scalp neck and anything Dye touches!!From start to finish DeAnna and Bex were supportive,informative and respectful of my previous experiences. I really wanted to find a cure as it was hugely affecting my confidence.The way that they dealt with my hair so patiently being ever so careful gave me huge confidence,I had really dark hair and I was amazed how well the Natural clays worked in lightening up my hair.I have tried many products and all have failed and made me scared to try again....YOU GUYS ROCK....thankyou soooo much,I hope so many more people in my situation find you...I would definitely recommend and am looking forward to returning again....Thankyou Sez

I am so happy I found Soul Style. There are no nasty chemical smells and the vibe is relaxed and friendly. My colour is beautiful and vibrant, I have had many comments, but without any scalp irritation. Soul Style is my Zen oasis and I look forward to my tea and the best scalp massage going.

I have been going to Soul style for just under a year now and every time I walk in there is no intense, harsh chemical smells that you find in every other salon. I walk out of there my hair feels more alive and more beautiful. DeAnna is an amazing stylist with plenty of expert advice. DeAnna and Greg know how to make you feel welcome and relaxed.Thanks for the great hair cut and colour today team. Briony

I have been going to Soulstyle Organic Hair Salon for 2 years now and always look forward to getting my hair done. The Atmosphere is always relaxed, the music and the coffee is great and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. DeAnna is really good at spending time talking about different styles and colours that will compliment you and comes up with good ideas. I have also been using the organic products from the salon and find that they last for ages as you only need a small amount. I love the fact that I am no longer putting any nasty chemicals anywhere near me and feel alot better for it. I look forward to many more great colours and styles. Thankyou :-) Anne

I'm quite particular about my haircut, but DeAnna has a real knack for understanding the way my hair falls then creating a style which reflects my personality and sense of style. I've always been proud to recommend SoulStyle to my friends when they compliment my hair, and are only too happy to follow them to their new location even though it's just a little further to travel. I'll now be taking my baby girl along to get her very first gorgeous SoulStyle haircut too!

I have been incredibly happy with Soulstyle. Nicky is amazing. She listen to exactly what I want & has my hair looking better than ever before. I love that their products are organic & safe. I have used them through pregnancy with no fears of harmful chemicals. Everyone is friendly & it is such a lovely oasis to escape to. Debbie.

I was intrigued by the idea of an organic hair salon but a little worried it would be pretentious and I would feel out of my depth. This was certainly not the case...It is a really relaxing environment, the prices are very fair and all that work there are polite and friendly. DeAnna is a genius when it comes to hair, especially when it was as bleached as mine. Through her advice, knowledge and wonderful products my straw-like hair is now returning to normal (something I worried wasn't possible!) I highly recommend a trip to Soulstyle and am so glad I made the break. Thanks De.

I am an older woman who finds going to the Soulstyle Organic Hair Salon a very restful experience especially at the moment with all that is happening in Christchurch with the ongoing earthquakes. DeAnna intuitively coaxes the best out of my greying hair with the gentlest organic hair colouring,styling and treatments. I look forward to going there once every five weeks for a couple of hours. I regard it as time well spent!

DeAnna is amazing! I have really long and thick hair and it has never looked better since I have been going to see her! The atmosphere is really relaxing and a big plus is that she uses only organic products! I have been referring all my clients to Soulstyle and will continue to do so!

I have had my hair styled and coloured several times at Soulstyle, I have blonde foils put into my dark brown hair and Stylist Deanna uses clay based colours which are ammonia free. The main difference I have noticed compared to non-natural foils is that my hair remains really soft - no more dry damaged hair from normal bleaching! and a lovely relaxed salon without horrible smells or toxic fumes. I would really recommend Soulstyle because I feel absolutely pampered every visit, and the results are consistently great! Sandra

I'm an American on a year working holiday and was worried who I could find to do my hair. This was my first organic hair salon experience, and it surpassed my expectations. I have really curly short hair, so I'm super picky about my cut. DeAnna actually showed me how my hair should be cut dry first to respect the curls. She got my style right away. I loved her cut and color. I was surprised how vibrant the color was too. Both DeAnna and Greg are so funny and cool. BTW-the head massage she gave me blew my mind. I've also purchased the BEST organic makeup that I've used there. Can't say enough good things about this place. If you want to look FABULOUS, get an appointment soon. They ROCK! Sandy

the most relaxed vibe of a salon that i have ever been too- staff, music, no overbearing chemical smells and delicious refreshments. I have had 2 colours done sofar at Soul Style and after years of colourinf my hair its finally in the best, softest, healthiest condition and my scalp no longer gets painful and red afterwards. thankyou Dee for this wonderful space!
