Sportaloosa International is a non-profit registry for the unique modern appaloosa spotted sport horse known as the Sportaloosa.
The Sportaloosa is a colourful athlete bred to be user friendly and competitive in the Olympic disciplines of jumping, dressage and eventing as well as cattle classes, reining, rodeo and endurance.
Sportaloosa International is designed to promote interest in athletic, spotted sport horses with sensible, trainable dispositions. It rewards you for choosing a Sportaloosa to own, ride, breed and compete on in a friendly, supportive and encouraging environment.
The registry offers two studbooks for spotted Sportaloosas with documented parentage, one for non-patterned Sportaloosas and an open registry for Sportaloosas whose parentage is not documented.
The Sportaloosa can get his spots from the Appaloosa or Knabstrupper or a combination of both.
Registered Sportaloosas qualify for annual awards and lifetime bronze, silver and gold medallions for competition points. The Let's Ride programme rewards hours in the saddle while the Secret Service is for kids only.
