17th April 2012 Had a new band put on my engagement ring. Was happy with the result when I picked it up. There was some movement of the setting under the claws but I assumed this was standard given that it had been done by a professional jeweller and was checked by the store owner before it was handed over to me. A couple of months later, the entire setting came out of the ring and I lost it. There was no damage to the claws, no bump or anything. When I talked to the manager about it she was less than sympatheic and suggested I lie to the insurance company and tell them I had lost the whole ring (are they worried about having to foot the insurance bill due to poor service?) I then sourced a new diamond and asked them to create a new setting and fit it for me as a gesture of good will and to acknowledge some responsibility. The owner was so rude and practically blamed me - saying I should have brought it back when I noticied something was wrong (I didnt know it was wrong!) and accused me of being rough with it and treating it poorly! I will be following up with a lawyer to see what my rights are under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

27th November 2010 I would not recommend this shop to anyone.
I experienced rudeness of which I seldom see in customer service anymore. Especially since I had 2 items to be fixed in the jewellers shop at the time. Nobody contacted my mobile number to tell me 1 item had been fixed and the other item had been quoted as I had requested. When I tried to explain that there had been a mixup and they had been phoning the wrong number I was told that it wasnt their fault, and the manager spoke over top of me so much I had to stop and ask her to listen to what I was trying to say. I questioned their customer service and how they run a business talking to people in this way and was hung up on. I had to go into the shop to pick up my bangle after this. It was fixed well. There is no problem with the workmanship. But my watch is being returned as I decided not to continue any further with this. I have to go back in to the shop to pick it up. There was no apology or fronting up to me by the manager when I went in to pick the bangle up.
I dont have anyone else to complain to because it is the store manager that behaves in this manner. I wonder if the watchmaker knows that their business is compromised by the offensive service at the jeweller end.
I would hope that this review reaches people wanting to do business with this store and its manager and makes them think twice about it.
