Chess is a great way to develop your mind, use your imagination and train your memory and reasoning skills. Chess teaches you how to make decisions and how sometimes you have to give up something good to obtain something better. Good chess players think what the opponent(TM)s next move will be and thus learn to look at a situation from another(TM)s point of view. Chess also teaches you that good outcomes are the result of the combined effort of all the pieces on the board. One strong piece usually is insufficient to make a difference.
