I came to this mechanic because my bumper on my car had come away from the car slightly. Basically all you would do in this situation is grab a drill, make some new holes and throw some nuts and bolts in to secure it. Ive sold alot of cars so I know a thing or two about what is required to fix a car. I couldnt be bothered doing it myself so thought Ill go to the local mechanic, it should only be about $20 max because its an easy 5 minute job, and I had this done on another car which was the same as this one previously so assumed it wont be much more than that. Well I assumed wrong. The total price ended up being $95. I explained to the mechanic that I know what is involved in doing this job and there is no way it would cost $95 to throw in a few screws, it would be closer to $20. Then he tells me that wouldnt have done a very good job and he will take $5 off, which was rather insulting. He goes onto tell me it took 2 guys to do the job and it cost $50 for some screws and some cable ties (the screws were provided and cable ties are $2 for a pack of 20 or 30). I just laughed because I thought this guy is absolutely mad, and paid the $90 so I could get out of the shop and stop wasting my energy. This has made me very skeptical about mechanics and I will now go back to my trusted mechanic (or someone reputable not a dodgy mechanic) now who doesn't treat me like an imbecile. No one could ever change my mind about going to this shop again, would not go here, even if you paid me.
