23rd January 2014 We visited Mandarin Dumpling & Bar last Thursday and didn't have a particularly enjoyable experience to say the least. We love Asian food and having recently visited China and being regular eaters of Yum Cha we thought we would give Mandarin a go as it sells itself as an upmarket dumpling bar. Its called Mandarin but the majority of the dishes are Cantonese???? We were very disappointed...
Service: Slow, absent and impersonal.
Food: Greasy, insufficient, flavorless and lacking care.
Drinks: Lacking in selection.
Price: Far too expensive for what was provided.
I would not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends and due to the fact that I was actually sick in the toilets prior to leaving I would definitely not return. When I was asked how everything was by the manager, I informed him I'd just been physically sick. His response was nothing more to say a brief sorry and take my card. Even using a Grabone voucher we felt ripped off.
