Adecco WaytoWork helps thousands of young people around the work get work ready and into work.
Youth Unemployment in Europe has reached crisis point. In countries like Spain and Greece it is as high as 50% for people under 25. It is a known fact that if you don’t work by the time you are 25 you may never work.
Adecco started the Waytowork initiative 4 years ago. The idea is to try and help youth get work ready.
Here in New Zealand we have been part of the initiative since it started. We actively reach out to learning institutions, schools, universities to try and get in front of as many young people as we can to help give them the skills to better there chances for employment. This includes coaching, CV writing tips and interview tips. We have worked with Gate Way programmes and The Dingle Foundation to get young school leavers in to work.
There is a global website that young people can access that has information to support them. This is not a job board but an information site only.
This year we are running a programme to give one young person the opportunity to be our CEO for one month. It is a paid internship and one of many we hope to have available in the future to try and give young people the opportunity to get work experience.
