Scalable - CrossFit is the most effective programme for anyone. A 70 year old grandma and a soldier's workout should vary by degree, not kind. The load and intensity can be scaled to meet the needs of any individual. If you are looking for increased physical fitness no matter what your age or ability, then this programme is for you.
Constantly Varied - Our specialty is not specialising. We strive to make you great at everything and this involves new and different workouts everyday.
Functional - Relevent exercises/movement patterns to immulate everyday activities. REAL WORLD.
Effective - Most CrossFit workouts are no longer than 30 minutes. With this programme you can see results with as little as 5 minute workouts, but this is not magic, it is good old-fashioned hard work.
CrossFit is not a specialised fitness programme, but a deliberate attempt to optimise physical competence in each of ten recognised fitness domains:
1. Endurance " The ability of body systems to gather, process, and deliver oxygen (cardiovascular/respiratory endurance).
2. Stamina " The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store, and utilize energy. (capacity to maintain repetitive muscular movements)
3. Strength " The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply force.
4. Flexibility " the ability to maximise the range of motion at a given joint.
5. Power " The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply maximum force in minimum time.
6. Speed " The ability to minimise the time cycle of a repeated movement.
7. Coordination " The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a single distinct movement.
8. Agility " The ability to minimise transition time from one movement pattern to another.
9. Balance " The ability to control the placement of the body's center of gravity in relation to its support base.
