As far as records show and from photos of earlier teams The Ellerslie Cricket Club was up and running in the early 1920's playing in the Auckland City & Suburban competition. We do have proof that their was a wicket at the Ellerslie Gardens, now the Auckland Racing Club and an All England Eleven played an Auckland Twenty Two in 1877. The name of such a club is not known but we have our money on it being "The Ellerslie Cricket Club".
