Mariachi New Zealand is now well known in New Zealand for their
Authentic Mexican music and (mariachi)
Fidel Pimentel the director of the only mariachi band established in Auckland.
1st July 2015 I'm secretary of the Moths and Butterflies of New Zealand Trust and we wanted a mariachi band to make our event fantastic... we chose the right band. We organised a fantastic movie Flight of the Butterflies in 3D which is all about the monarch's migration from as far north as Canada down to Mexico and at the fiesta we had beforehand we had Fidel's band playing. They turned up on time - well actually well before, which was a huge relief when you're organising something like this, so there was plenty of time to discuss what was going to happen when. And they led the procession from our fiesta up to the cinema which was great fun. The music was fantastic, very authentic and professional and many of our important guests commented on how great they were. Thank you Fidel and your band.

13th March 2014 We contracted Fidel and his crew to play at our wedding in March 2014.
It was one of those gigs that required perfect timing as we had organised for them to start playing once our ceremony was over and we were walking down the aisle. Unfortunately, the band arrived 40 minutes late and missed the whole thing which was extremely disappointing. Luckily we had a back up singer to help us out.
Once they arrived the guests were very impressed with their music and I was just relieved they had turned up at all.
The most upsetting part about the band being very late was that there was no accountability assumed whatsoever. I still haven't received an apology or explanation as to why they were so very late, and our wedding coordinator told me Fidel had said it wasn't his fault, nobody told him what time to be there and he didn't even remember my name...
If they had been stuck in traffic and apologised and accepted responsibility, it would have been OK, but that they denied knowing anything and didn't make any gesture to apologise to me seems very unprofessional. I might add that I had arranged to meet Fidel the day before the wedding to clarify where to park, where to enter, what TIME to arrive etc and I should have known when he was nearly an hour late for that meeting that things were not to go smoothly.
It's a shame because their music is stunning, they're just not reliable or professional...
