Prana Yoga offers 90mins yoga classes. Each Yoga class consists of approx 1 hours asana (exercise) followed by 30 mins breathing techniques and guided relaxation. (pranayama and Yoga Nidra) Although this format is the same, each class is different, some maybe more energising others more relaxing.
Everyone is encouraged to listen to their bodies and work to where they feel they are on each particular day. Variations are given to enable people to work at their own level. Yoga should not be painful and is not about tieing yourself in pretzel like positions. Participants should always come out of a position and rest whenever you feel ready, regardless of what others are doing. Yoga should not be competitive.
Why yoga?
Regular yoga practice can have a positive effect on your health and well-being including increasing flexibility and fitness, improving breathing, and bringing greater peace of mind. These classes will gently introduce you to yoga postures, breathing and relaxation. Yoga classes are energising, strengthening and restorative. Go home feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
Participants should bring their own mat if they have one (some loan mats are available) and a blanket for yoga nidra/ relaxation when the body temperature will drop.
