A multidisciplinary artist most well-known for his pottery, Jim Ellis has a bold and diverse body of work . Currently in his 80's Jim is still innovating and exploring, always pushing the boundaries of a mixture of media including pottery, drawing, painting and sculpture.
Jim began his career as a primary school teacher, where he encouraged children to learn about the world through curiosity and play. It is this philosophy which most defines Jim's eclectic art practice. While he is no longer teaching in schools, Jim still teaches classes in pottery and drawing at Gallery 34 where he enjoys nurturing the limitless creativity of both children and adults alike.
