Tanuki's Cave, our subterranean yakitori bar was open two years later in 1997. Yakitori literally means 'grilled chicken', but the Cave offers a wide variation of meats, seafood. and vegetable dishes. All grilled on bamboo skewers and basted with our special in-house sauce or grilled with salt.
Yakitori tastes great with beer and we recommend you try it with our Japanese Sapporo or Asahi beer on tap.
We also have a large selection of Kushiage which are bread crumbed, deep fried morsels like pork belly or shitake mushrooms stuffed with chicken mince. This is served with a special savoury sauce.

11th January 2011 Great bustling place for good inexpensive izakaya.
A must try, you need to wait for a table often on busy nights but just hang out at the bar with some massive Asahi's and it won't be long.
Cabbage and mayo a great starter. The specials are always tasty. Must have the corn, the almond crusted kumara balls, the tiger prawns... awwww.
Yum. Fun. And great times to be had.
You can even purchase a big bottle of sake and keep it there for your next visits!
Great atmosphere, quick service, delishes food.
