We are an early childhood centre that believes relationships are paramount to the education and wellbeing of all children. We seek to provide an
environment that nurtures relationships with family and whanau and that acknowledges our unique diversity and culture.
We believe that the relationships our children experience in early childhood settings create foundations for their future relationships. For this reason we believe developing meaningful relationships at the Sandbox is crucial to
our children(TM)s learning and development.
We believe all children are independent, capable learners and encourage them to lead their learning with their teachers to support and guide them. We
believe that meaningful learning takes place when a child displays an active interest and this interest is developed and extended. We seek to initiate a
learning journey that captures the hearts and minds of children, parents, whanau and teachers.
We aim to provide an environment that utilises natural resources and that is constantly evolving. An environment that encourages children to take risks with their learning and challenges our tamariki to grow mentally and physically. We thrive on spending time in our community and value opportunities to extend our learning beyond the walls of the centre.
We are passionate about allowing our children to enjoy their childhood. We recognise that teaching and learning is a journey and aim to create an
environment that provides each individual the opportunity to dream, create and discover.
