Crispin Balfour and Lynne Holdem have been working alongside each other for twenty years. They are both experienced psychotherapists working in general practice: Lynne is based in New Plymouth and Crispin is based in Auckland. They meet regularly to discuss their practice and, whilst they both originally trained in and taught psychosynthesis, they share a keen interest in contemporary psychoanalytic thought.

Originally from Taranaki, Lynne works with people experiencing depression, anxiety, effects of trauma and abuse, and also people wanting to feel more purpose and meaning in their lives. She is also chairperson of the Taranaki branch of Supporting Families in Mental Illness and has been running a pilot programme for children of parents with a mental illness or addiction (COPMIA). She trained in Circle of Security and endeavours to include an attachment focus into the parent group she runs in tandem with the children's COPMIA group.
