Plains Irrigators Limited is the only specialist Centre Pivot installation company in the South Island. We are the South Island agent for Zimmatic Irrigation Systems, and are well positioned to meet the demand for cost-effective irrigation solutions.

We have been working with this leading irrigation manufacturer, custom-building packages for clients in New Zealand since 1995, when Plains Irrigators started in partnership with a Zimmatic dealer in Lameroo, Australia. We built the largest span of irrigation seen in Australasia in 1995 and have built even larger systems since then.

The partnership was dissolved in November, 1999 for logistical reasons, and has continued as a limited liability company. The focus for the company has remained on the systems design, sales and installation of Zimmatic Center Pivot & Lateral Move Irrigators.

The company has grown from a small owner operated enterprise to a company employing engineering, specialist spanning crew, pipelayers and office functions to accommodate the growing business. Plains Irrigators is now delivering irrigation solutions including stock water systems to the whole of the South Island of New Zealand.
