Catalina Cafe

The Catalina Cafe is run by Wayne Jackson and Rachael Aitken, a pair of renowned cafe proprietors that hold a wealth of industry experience, including running successful establishments such as ~The Black Dog coffee house in Matakana and the ~Leigh Sawmill cafe. The pair is passionate about creating a hub for Hobsonville Point residents and the wider community that not only provides fresh quality food, but a place to gather and socialise.

We cater for those pushed for time as well as those out for a leisurely brunch with family and friends.

On the menu we have a full classic breakfast offering with cinnamon brioche French toast, eggs Benedict, eggs on toast with a large range of sides, toasted muesli with fresh seasonal fruit and much more. We serve breakfast all day.

From the counter we have a selection of sandwiches on artisan breads, filled with free range chicken and ham, delicious cheeses and produce, all ready for roasting in our hot presses. There are also other items, such as Arancini, rice paper rolls, filled croissants and a variety of salads, as well as Rachael amazing homemade cakes, slices and pastries. To top it off there is a well stocked pie warmer with gourmet pies, pastries and homemade calzone.

Wayne and Rachael use certified organic and free range meats and poultry, and spray free and local produce where possible. Coffee from Matakana coffee roasters, an award winning boutique roastery, will be served and will also be available for purchase as whole beans or ground. Fantastic KeriKeri organic teas and absolutely divine aromatic total infusion teas will satisfy tea lovers and cold drinks are also available.

In winter the Catalina Cafe is open 7 days from 8am " 4pm. As the weather warms up, Wayne and Rachael are looking to open some evenings for dinner and live music. Moving into spring and summer a liquor license will also be in place allowing you to enjoy a lovely glass of wine, beer or bubbles in the sunshine.
