28th April 2013 We also had the misfortune of visiting this cafe in late april 2013 and the angry service described by the reviewer below was the same for us ... our "hot" drinks were served 15 minutes after our muffins and the coffee was cold ... when we complained to the owner she flew into an incredible tantrum and tried to take our drinks away and yelled "get out of my cafe".... she needs to undergo anger management counselling... suffice to say it was one of the most unpleasant dining experiences of our lives and quite upsetting for our two young children.....

25th December 2011 We were at Zest for lunch 4 days before xmas, ordered 3 Zest burgers (Vegetarian, $15 each), a pan fried Salmon ($15), Chai Latte ($6) and Coffee Latte ($6), total $72. The 'Zest' burgers (that bears their name) were tasteless, all had soggy pea patties that were probably under-cooked. We kept quiet through it all, but when we mentioned to the barista that he gave us the wrong size latte, he stomped off, checked our order, then angrily shouted to another waiter "GET RID OF IT!!(the wrong latte)" such that we can all hear. My children were embarrased by his tantrum and nobody deserves such treatment. What a waste too, the latte was probably the only decent thing about Zest but the bad service made it hard to swallow. This has to be the worst cafe in Kerikeri. We won't ever go back there again.
