We could not fault our experience at all! The only not so great thing was there were heaps of kids there running around on a Saturday night but they weren't too bad and didn't bother us much. I guess it is a family friendly restaurant!

But the service was faultless and professional, food was fantastic and the ambience was lovely with the themed room and big warm fireplaces. Exactly the type of place you want to eat in winter. We ate here on a voucher and were treated really well. Fantastic evening!

The Stables Restaurant & Bar is set in the beautiful Matakana Country Park just 40 minutes north of Auckland. Open Wed-Fri from 4pm, Sat-Sun from 10am.

The Stables Restaurant is supported by many locals & in turn, proudly contributes to its community using the best of local produce unique to the area including dry-aged beef, free range chicken, fresh fish & seafood from Leigh and organic ice cream from OOB.

The bar offers an extensive range of local, New Zealand & Australian wine to accompany any of the food options available. A large range of spirits, beers & ciders are available as well as some unique cocktail recipes to try.
