1st November 2011 As an ardent Auckland restaurant goer, last weekend on a trip with friends to New Plymouth was very pleasantly rewarded with a visit to Table Restaurant at Nice Hotel. I had heard about this place from foodie friends of mine and was not disappointed. The nite we dined, 6 of us, was the launch of their new menu. We shared the hot platter on the deck while the waitress explained the fish of the day, freshly caught Snapper. Unfortunately after the platter I could not manage an entree but chose the grilled lamb, sweet bread and lamb neck jelly. Wasn't sure what I would be getting but great. Two of my friends ordered a fondue which I couldn't help but dip into because it looked so good. I settled for the cheese washed down with a nice sticky wine. I'm one who looks for faults naturally and could only find a mark on the chair. Well done you guys at Table. I'll definitely be back :)
30th December 2012 Despite the incredibly kitch naming this is a very nice restaurant serving impeccable food with an impressive wine list to match.
I'd love to see what they could offer if they extended themselves to a degustation offering - however what they have on offer via the a la carte menu is superb.
Would highly recommend for anyone dining in New Plymouth or Taranaki region.

12th October 2011 I was a little disappointed after being told this is the best place to dine out in New Plymouth. The venue is very pleasant. The food was mostly average. The steak was done perfectly and definitely rates five stars but was let down by the condiments and very salty bacon bits in the sauce which detracted from its amazing flavour.
No deserts to write home about. I was a little amused at the deconstructed trifle but have to ask why? I love trifle. Would have liked the option of a high quality creme brulee. I am pleased to say the coffee was excellent.
The service was a bit of a let down being left with dirty plates and having to battle to attract attention to get the bill. A mediocre evening just barely saved by a brilliant steak. Pity, I was hoping for a new favourite.
