At Shinobi Sushi Lounge highly skilled sushi chefs employ classical Japanese cooking techniques to make the most of top quality New Zealand ingredients.
Our menu is made up of a selection of sushi and sashimi, a large range of popular Californi sushi rolls and specials from the kitchen such as Kara-age Squid with Bull Dog Sauce and Mayonnaise, Kounomono (a trio of pickled vegetables) and Tuna Tataki.
Prices range from $7 to $19 for California Rolls, up to $35 for the Sashimi Selection and between $12 and $20 for dishes from the kitchen.
Our drinks list is extensive, there are cocktails, a large range of wine, a small selection of sake, plus bottled beers (including Japanese beers).
A Japanese friend recommended us to try this restaurant. So we went there for dinner. The location is not so central so there wasn't many ppl that night. we ordered the sashimi plate as a starter. It was quite fresh, tasted delicious. We also ordered the 111 roll, some nigiri, and the barrio roll. The rolls were quite creative, something different from the traditional Japanese rolls. interesting taste from tuna and coriander combo! one small incident of the night was to find a small piece of hair on one of the rolls. Staffs were very apologetic and insisted not to charge the fee for the roll as well as to give us a tuna hand roll. Overall service was great with friendly staffs, food was very creative. would recommend to people who love Jap food and want something different from the traditional style^_^
