18th April 2014 Awesome restaurant in great location. We where a little bit early so we partook of a little wine tasting before our lunch which is only $5 per person and free if buying lunch or wine, recommended. We were a party of three which is worth mentioning as on a good day these tables are set back from the umbrellas with that great sunshine and better view. Food wine and service exquisite, second time here will be back for sure.

6th February 2014 Went for lunch here the other day, the food was brilliant and the service was fantastic - definitely worthwhile and we will be back. The staff were keen to help us and we received our meals very quickly with breads to keep us going in the meantime. The food was amazing - beautifully presented and using quality ingredients - it was just what we expected and then some. Looking forward to going again.

10th October 2011 This restaurant is sublime. The food is magnificent and if you have a special occassion, this is the place to celebrate. Make sure you have plenty on your credit card though as it is expensive. But you will definitely get your moneys worth in food, drink, service and ambiance

29th November 2010 Simply magnificant. The first thing that hits you when you arrive is how impressive the building is. Nothing has been spared or left to chance, it is quite stunning. The service was fantastic, the staff very helpful and knowledgable. If thats not enough then the food was outstanding, it was quite possibly the nicest meal i have ever had. High praise I know, but I was not the only one at our table to make that comment. Cant wait to go again.

28th November 2010 Stunning location. The building that houses the restaurant is second to none. The design and finishing touches are exquisite, I have heard that the kitchen is absolute state of the art. The staff present themselves very professionally, probably better than anywhere else in Hawkes Bay. The service was superb.
With all of these elements getting a 10/10 you would expect the food to right up there, well, it was good but not exquisite. I came away feeling that I could get similar food from a good cafe ( at a fraction of the price ) - although a cafe may not have used such elaborate plates!
Dont get me wrong, I would still take guests there and they will still be happy but I think that they need a chef who is more up to "Masterchef" standard than what they have got right now.

23rd September 2010 Upon entering this place, your shoulders sink and you enter a serene haze, your ears ring with relaxation. The interior is pretty cool, with a sunken lounge area and a deck surrounded by mirror pool with vines extending towards sea views of Cape Kidnappers. The decor must be straight out of the set of "This Is Not My Life." It's about then that you realize that's about as good as it gets. The service is good, the food portions aren't that great, pretty basic offerings and the prices exagerated. The sincerity of the place goes out the door when you see their wine list. It is understandable that they push their own produce but not at the expense of offering poor alternatives at overinflated prices. This is the type of place you take a model for a date as you can look good without worrying that much food will go to waste - or that your wallet won't get as much of a hammering!
Really impressive food and setting. We dined inside. Will try the outdoor dining next time to mix it up.
