10th February 2012 Best friend and I found a little slice of true rustic Italy,at Pane e Vino. From the cheery 'Ciao Bella' as you enter, to the gastronomical joys of the classic Fritti, reasonably priced Italian wine (carafe of course),brilliant selection of secondi and absolutely gorgeous Sorbetto al Limoncello for the indulgence, we thought we'd been transported back to Florence. Seated in the shade on the verandah of this charming old Grey Lynn villa, we were treated like special senoras...what a combination - fabulous food and brilliant service. We will surely be back!

31st January 2012 The food is so so so good but the service is consistently bad. I have gone here several times and had the wrong thing brought out to me - which is especially bad as I'm a vegetarian. They're not very apologetic when they stuff up either. Having said that, the meals are so good it's almost worth it. It will take some convincing to get my boyfriend back here though.

23rd September 2011 Best Italian food I have eaten in Auckland, the pasta Puttanesca is to die for if you are a huge anchovie fan like me. Also had a pizza with rocket, parma ham and walnuts which was delicious. Fantastic Italian atmosphere, and always packed so make sure you book ahead of time. Fabulous when it is someones birthday as they make a big deal out of it and bring out a cake with a candle, turn off all the lights and sing Happy Birthday in Italian to the lucky birthday person!
