Homeopathy is an estsablished form of complimentary medicine developed 200 years ago by Dr Samuel Hahnemann. Homeopathy is derived from the Greek word 'homoios' meaning 'similar' and 'pathos' meaning 'suffering'.
Homeopathy is based on the principles of 'like cures like' where a plant, mineral or animal substance that can cause disease in a healthy person, can cure an unwell person exhibiting the same symptoms. This follows the second principal where the smallest amount of diluted natural substance is given medicinely to stimulate the body's ability to heal itself. The third principle is the treatment of the whole person. The homeopath obtains information about your presenting symptoms, your physical, emotional and mental health and family history before prescribing a remedy that is individualised and unique for your case.
Homeopathy is safe for all ages including babies, pregnant women and the elderly and can help with:
Acute illness recently arisen such as colds, flu, sore throats, vomiting, diarrhea, ear infections, injuries, stings & bites.
Chronic conditions where an illness has persisted for a long time such as migraines, mensturation, respiratory & skin problems, digestive & sleep disorders, depression, post-natal depression, anxiety & stress.
Constitutionally to strengthen the bodies immune system & improve physical, emotional & mental wellbeing.
Childhood illness such as colic, teething, constipation, ear infection, sleep & behavioural problems.
All consultations are confidential. The first one takes 1.5 hours. 2-4 weeks later a 30-45 minute followup takes place to evaluate progress and make changes to the remedy if required. Progress is also monitored by phone. The remedy is given at the end of the consultation or posted.
