20th March 2010 Highly recommended for children - my 8 year old daughter loves attending her Nam Wah Pai Kung Fu classes; her enthusiam to learn makes a parent proud. Her confidence is starting to shine and her motivation to achieve her goals has heightened tremendously. Its a fun society to be apart of; my daughter feels safe with her instructors who are lovely and approachable to talk with. I couldn't ask for anything more than what's been achieved - and, its alot cheaper than therapy.
Martial Arts School - Chinese Martial Arts.
Nam Wah Pai is a Chinese style martial art, incorporating a very sophisticated and modern method of self defence.
It was introduced into New Zealand by the late Mr. Steve Kitson, 7th degree black belt. Initially all you will learn are the external concepts such as flexibility, kicking, punching, katas, weapons and free sparring etc.
Once you reach senior belt level you will progress on to the true meaning of Nam Wah Pai, and that is internal strength training. This involves learning how to channel the body's energy to improve health and self defence capabilities. Meditation to relax and restore lost energy through physical training is also taught.
It takes approximately 3 years of regular training to attain a black belt in Nam Wah Pai.
Nam Wah Pai aims to instil courtesy, perseverance, integrity, self control and self confidence.
Nam Wah Pai is suitable for everyone, young or old, male or female. As well as being a powerful form

17th April 2009 Hey everyone out there Nam Wah Pai Kung Fu is an awesome style of martial arts. You learn powerful blocks, Bone Breaking kicks and flexibility beyond imagination if all done correctly. You can use it as self-defense, hobby or even as a sport. For me it is all of these. I mean it is fun, you learn heaps, such as Katas, Freesparring Linework and more. The family of the club are always there for you. The results are very positive such as gradings, National Tournaments and when you get Senior Belt, breaking things with your inner energy, Chi. I am a blue belt, and i went to the nationals and got positive results one of them was 1st in Freesparring.
As you can see Nam Wah Pai Kung Fu is a great way to learn the traditional Chinese Martial Art. So join us, but be prepared to have fun AND learn heaps.

10th April 2009 An excellent art form, with a superb combination of strength, balance and flexibility. The katas or training patterns of movements regimes are swift, graceful and flowing, but also focused and can be lethal if applied to certain situations as the manipulation of "Chi" is incorporated to give the strikes and blocks real power. I would also describe them as being quite beautiful. The weapons disciplines are of classic authenticity and awesome to experience "live". There are minimal injury levels without any sacrifice to discipline. There is a very real benefit from gaining highly effective self defense techniques applicable to real life situations and the classes are fun, but no walk in the park. Technical and moral support from the instructors is second to none and they exhibit a high standard of professionalism and care. The fees are more than reasonable comparatively speaking, and there is a definite feeling of family within the club. I am proud to be part of this authentic martial arts club.
