28th August 2009 My daughter has attended the aoga for 3.5 years. The feeling you get when you enter the centre is unbelievable, we are of european and Maori decent and our daughter has developed into a wonderful well rounded girl. The time the staff spend on structure educational sessions is exellent. (she can speak/sing, spell and count in english, maori and samoan)
I thank the Samoan staff and the board of trustees for the exellent start to life they have given our daughter...
We are a small early childhood centre in Tokoroa, we cater primarily to the Samoan, but also the wider community. Our dedicated staff offer a high quality, warm, friendly and loving multicultural learning environment for children from birth to 5 years.
We are fully licenced and open from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The centre remains open through the school holidays. Our rates are very reasonable and we can offer WINZ subsidies and free ECE to those who meet the criteria.
Families are warmly welcomed and their contribution is valued at the centre. We work in partnership with families to ensure the best outcome for every child.
All children become part of the centre family when they attend Samoa Taumafai Aoga Amata. Children are encouraged in decision making and start developing skills to deal with life, both now and in the future.
At Samoa Taumafai Aoga Amata (STAA) your children will experience a supportive and challenging environment where their individual needs are acknowledged and recognised. We have qualified and experienced teachers, excellent ratios and a holistic approach to our programme to ensure that your child gets the best care and education.
Te Whaariki (New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum) is used as a base to develop programmes to meet the individual learning of each child. This ensures that development and growth can be assessed by teachers through observations.
We provide quality care and education for children up to five years old, and offer the following options.
For all children
We offer both full time and/or partime care within our operating hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, and booking times are divided into 15 minute blocks to enable parents to cater their bookings to their requirments.
We can assist with WINZ subsidy applications for those who meet the WINZ child subsidy requirements.
For children from 3 to 5 years old.
We are also able to offer 20 free ECE hours for children over 3 years old.
