Wise Earth Solutions offers a simple 'mail order' Do-It-Yourself Soil Testing service for farmers, lifestylers and gardeners to ensure they are not wasting money on fertiliser or harming the environment with it.
The "Dirt Dagger" Kit includes :-
1.The DIY Dirt Dagger tool to take soil samples yourself with simple instructions to ensure a professional sampling job. Getting a good representitive soil sample is essential for a worthwhile test result.
2.Appropriate Soil Tests by Hill Laboratories (the largest labs in NZ) of each sampled area according to your requirements.(Animals grazed or crop grown) The 'basic' test includes pH, Phosphate, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, CEC, Base Saturation and Volume Weight. For a grazing farm a Sulphate Sulphur test is advised, but is extra to the basic test.. Other popular tests available include Organic Sulphur, Trace Elements and Boron.
Leaf testing is also available.
3.Results are sent to you and simply explained by a trained professional.
4.A fertiliser program is suggested to suit your soil, the use you are putting it to, the environment to eliminate wastage and your pocket so you don't overdo the budget!
5.An 'on the ground' quotation of your fertiliser choice from your local spreader or delivered to you to spread yourself.
The cost of all the above including the Basic Soil Test + Sulphate Sulphur test is $166 + gst.
