Have been here three times now and each time more disappointing than the last. Dinner food is overpriced for something you could cook yourself at home. Atmosphere and service during the day is poor due to the constant booming voice of a man with devil horn implants constantly yelling at other staff over the music. Ordering system is poorly designed -you must order at the counter for some things but table service for others. Overall a very unwelcoming experience and we will not be returning.

On arrival were not made to feel particularly welcome. They had beer on the menu that was not available. Ordered food and waited nothing short of an hour for our food and even then it came out very sporadically. The service was inconsistent and to top it off, when my friend went to the bathroom she saw the chef in the kitchen preparing an ice cream sunday run his finger around the top of the glass and then suck his finger - disgusting!

I love this place, it makes me feel at home every time I come back to Welly! Great food and coffee, cosy decor, smiling friendly staff, and open all hours. I'd rate this as one of Wellington's best :-)

The best brunch, honestly! A fav for everyone with a wicked view and atmopshere (beach and bright coloured decor) this place is a must. Quick service by their attentive staff. We ordered a couple of the potato rosti's with poached eggs, ham and hollandise and coffees. Coffees and food fast to get to us. Mmm so yum, heaven in your mouth and nice people working there most definately recommend.

This is a fantastic new place for brunch. The seats outside are wonderful when Wellington gets a little bit of sun. It feels like I live somewhere that has summer! I've had the muesli (massive!), pancakes (delicious) and vegetarian breakfast (massive and delicious!). The place is very busy in the weekends, so you sometimes have to wait to get the attention of the staff but other times they seem to miraculously remember all orders and requests despite the full house. I requested a change to my Vege breakfast, which came out wrong and the waitress had no issue returning it to be done again. I was most happy! Their coffee cards are great - you get something every few coffees as well as the 10th free!

Love Beach Babylon. BB is our favourite place to have brunch. The pancakes with berries and vanilla creme fraiche are awesome as is their herb rosti version of eggs benny. The service and coffee has always been good for us. Definitely recommend it as a good brunch place and a cool place to eat out.

We had a really nice BYO dinner here. We made a booking at the last minute and they manage to fit us in and were really accomodating. The chilli prawns and steak were affordable and tasty, everyone in our group was really happy. Definitely will be back.

I have eaten here twice for dinner. The first time the service was terrible, a waitress spilt an entire glass of coke on my husband and walked off without even apologising. We were sitting close and talking to eachother and evry time they put anything on the table like water they would dump it stright in front of our faces, without saying a word. The menu is not very extensive and only gives a few options. the food we had was good...certainly not excellent though but nothing to complain about. except the "crumble" which was actually just aple with oats on top...nothing crumbley about it at all. The second time again the service was appauling...worst than the first. And I know it was actually the manager serving us so there was no excuse. it was a tuesday night and not even busy yet we got ignored for most of the night and had to venture to the till to order...ask for dessert menu's and eventually pay. Disgraceful! The food this time was terrible, i couldnt even eat mine. i would like to have had a dessert but no one offered to take an order for us so we eventually got up and left. we could have literally walked out the door an no one notice they were so ignorant of our presence. I certainly wont be going back for dinner again which is a shame as the atmosphere and decor is lovely. 70's style, very cosy and private. For daytime lunches and coffes this is a nice cafe, but they certainly need to perk up there dinner time service.

Our family had a great dinner seated in the sheltered area between the outside and the inside tables. Felt like we were at a resort. We enjoyed friendly, attentive service. The food was tasty & generous, especially the rissoles and bruscetta. Perhaps the disappointed reviewer needs to make a return visit as those teething problems they experienced seem to be totally sorted out. Bravo!

Wonderful warm service, and fantastic tapas last night. Great staff, who accommodated us in the midst of a customer bomb onslaught. Great location and very appealing fit out. this could be THE midrange oriental bay place to eat, imbibe and generally chill.

Waited for over an hour and a half after ordering (and paying). Ignored by four waiters, then finally informed that kitchen 'lost' our order. We had to ASK for a refund in the end and got no apologies. Never going back, 'cooler than thou' staff with no substance or service ethic. Pitiful.
