I've been visiting Hester and the Ministry of Hair team for almost a year and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I've got hair which is unpredictable and difficult to manage and Hester has been great (and very patient I might add) at working with me to achieve a hairstyle that is relatively low maintenance but also looks good. Hester also put me on to the Keratin Complex smoothing process they offer and it's really helped control my hair on a day to day basis. Overall, I've found them to be a really friendly salon who genuinely want you to walk away with a hairstyle that you will love and one that is workable between visits to the hairdresser.

Hester did an amazing job completely restyling my hair - I came in without any specific ideas - and trusted her for the recommendation. The result completely exceeded my expectations. The cut and colour are just perfect - thank you so much!

My experience at Ministry of Hair has been nothing but great. Lovely atmosphere, skilled hairdressers, and exceptional customer service. I knew that I had to come back after my first cut and color with Katie - it was the best haircut I've had in years. I was just on a short visit to New Zealand from Canada at the time, but I recently moved permanently to Auckland, and had been looking forward to coming back to Ministry of Hair since the move was finalized (that's how much it stuck in my mind). I returned for another cut last month and was once again thrilled with the end result. I'll definitely be back!

Last wednesday night I was lucky enough to have Darjia as my stylist! I have never walked out of a salon so happy with my colour/foils! this was my first appointment at Ministry of Hair and of course I was nervous going to a different salon than my usual but I had absolutely nothing to be nervous about! Darjia did such an amazing job turning my hair into a more natural looking blonde which is just what I wanted, she really is a natural herself! thank you so much!

I have been going to the Ministry of Hair for a number of years and I have not been disappointed in all that time. Hester and her team have always looked after me with great cuts and fantastic colour advice. Their management of my hair colour has been outstanding and the products they use are fantastic - great colour recommendations, no noticeable fading plus products and techniques that don't cause damage. I have now successfully transitioned from dark brown to caramel blonde - a programme Hester has worked on for months to create a new look and reduce maintenance as my hair has greyed. I am very fortunate to have been in the hands of such a great team. S Giles

In December last year, I decided to make a radical change to my hair and Hester was so supportive and encouraging. I now have the best ever haircut, that needs little intervention from me and always looks great! I would have no hesitation recommending Hester and her team.

I cannot recommend Hester highly enough. she is amazing. She works with me to find a colour that I love and suits me, and has helped to restore the health of my hair. I moved to Auckland 18 months ago, and haven't missed a single hair appointment since I moved here. Hester makes you feel comfortable and at ease with her straight away and you can see the passion and love she has for the work that she is doing.

I cannot sing the praises of the team at MOH enough - especially Emma. I arrived in Auckland a year ago with badly damaged & neglected hair, and Emma has performed miracles - leaving me with not just healthy hair, but hair I am proud of. I feel comfortable & welcome whenever I visit, and would not consider going anywhere else now (shudder at the thought!) Definitley 5* plus at MOH!

I was travelling to Auckland for a short stay and decided to get my hair cut and restyled. I was booked in with Hester. It was a great experience. Hester took the time to find about my life style so she could cut my hair to suit my daily life. She explained to me that we all need a hairstyle that we can manage ourselves between salon visits. I was very pleased with my haircut. It is modern and exactly what I had been wanting from a stylist for a long time. The first time I came to wash and style it I was hoping I could recreate what it looked like when I left the salon. I did exactly that. And Hester delivered what she promised , a style I could manage. Thanks Hester. I love my hair and gets lots positive comments about it. I have to seriously consider travelling from the South Island to Auckland now for my hairstyle fix. Regards. Susanne Smith

I regularly travel between Australia and New Zealand on business and only just discovered Ministry of Hair which, luckily enough, is at our company's preferred Hotel. I was completely blown away by Hesta's approach to customer service, a quality result and most importantly, explaining to me what I 'should' consider when having a cut, not simply what I 'want' to do. As a man, I don't want to appear overly concerned by what's up top, but in all honesty I dread the haridresser more than the dentist! Hesta spent the first 10 minutes simply asking me about my hair, what I wanted, what I was concerned about etc. She was in no rush to simply throw me through the process and run me out the door. She then proceeded to recommend what I should consider when having my hair cut in terms of my type of hair, the way it grows and much more. As I said, I was blown away. The final result was exceptional. Truly, it was not only the best Haircut I can ever recall getting, it was the best experience, the best feeling of satisfaction at the end and, finally, the most informative. The only problem, is Ministry of Hair is in Auckland and I live in Sydney... I don't know what I'm going to do once I return home! If you want the best hair experience you' ve ever had, then Ministry of Hair is the only place you need to go. Aaron.

The team is super skilled, up to date when it comes to trends and techniques and very friendly. I never got as many compliments for my hair as since I first stepped into their studio, even from strangers on the street. So if you want great cuts and great service, give it a try :)

I have been to the Ministry of hair 3 times now and I love going there. Trish is great at cutting my hair she listens to what I want and does exaclty that. They also dont mind me asking heaps of questions about products and they always give me tips on how to make my hair healther etc. I would recommend going to Ministry of Hair for getting a cut or colour. They are great!

This is the best salon I have ever been to, and beats every other salon in Auckland!!!! The team made me so welcome and comfortable. Trish was my stylist and I am absolutely stoked with the magic she worked on my cut and colour!!! The team is so knowledgable and experienced in what they do - which is excellent. I'm totally hooked on Ministry of Hair and would highly recommend this salon with utmost confidence to anyone :) Can't wait for the next appointment!!!

I would definitely recommend going to Ministry of Hair to see Emma! She used to work in Dunedin and did my hair for roughly 2 years. She got my hair to the perfect colour (and still in great condition) and I always get compliments on it, a much better outcome than previous hairdressers I went to. Make the most of this talented girl and her colleagues, and book an appointment with them!! :)

It's always a wonderful experience everytime I am at the Ministry of Hair. Brogain is a genius! She is great with colours, style cuts and caring for my hair. This is one salon worth recommending...you won't just look great, but you'll feel great! I now live in Melbourne but I make sure I book an appointment with them everytime I am back home. Great job guys!!

As a male I dread getting my haircut. However the Ministry of Hair experience has changed that. The salon is inviting and modern as are the staff. It seems that no matter what I ask for at other hairdressers I end up with a boxy bowlcut. At Ministry of Hair I dont even need to explain what I want anymore, just sit down, enjoy a good chat and know that my cut will be stylish and modern. Overall a great, relaxing experience

After a particularly bad 'scare cut' at another Auckland salon, I was not exactly jumping for joy on my way to to Ministry of Hair; would this be another disappointment and then an 8 week wait before my hair was long enough to find somewhere better? Not this time!! After spending the afternoon with Abbie and Emma, I have found the first salon since leaving the UK almost three years ago that I will definitely be visiting twice (and more!). Emma was AMAZING - I have no idea what she did, but I am just glad she did it! She understood exactly what I wanted and for the first time in years I left the salon with that hair shampoo ad feeling! I am already looking forward to how great it will look next time. Spend an hour with Emma and she can take ten years off you (in the best way possible!). Art without the drama, this is hairdressing at its very best. I loved it so much I promised to take chocolate for them next time!! Go there. I am so glad I did - you will be too.

The team at Ministry of Hair are absolutely brilliant heart and sole hairdressers! I have been to so many salons and I have never had the amazing experience I had at MOH. Every time I walk in the door I am recognised and welcomed immediately by Hester and her team. Abby is lovely with such a great can do attitude, Brogain is such a character (as well as an amazing hair stylist) and kept me intertained during the 7 hours (no, that wasn't a typo) I was in the salon. Shelley was so lovely (and patient!), removing the black dye from my hair which took 5 hours - she is so amazing, to watch her work is like watching an artist. She took such care and explained everything so well. Hester finished off the last 2 hours (poor Shelley will probably never want to see me again - 5 hours is a long time!) and the result was nothing less than miraculous! My hair is now a beautiful and healthy copper red and I have had sooooo many compliments that my cheeks may be permanently red from blushing! What more can I say - I will never go to another hairdresser - I'm hooked! I've never met hairstylists who are more passionate or knowlegable about hair AND their clients - a rarity these days. Thank you so much Hester and co! See you soon :o)

If you have thick curly unruly hair, this is the place to get it cut! Hester took the time to talk to me about my lifestyle and requirements, and gave me a fabulous new look that is easy for me to manage. Top class service from Abby the friendly and helpful receptionist. I came away feeling special and with a smile on my face. What more can I say - go there and experience some pampering yourself.

11th Aug 2011...Ive just got home from having my hair cut & coloured by Shelly... I can only say ***THANK YOU*** the finish results were More than i expected.. My hair looks so good right now im afraid to mess it up by sleeping on it... Thank you Shelly, for listening, recommending, and explaining the steps taken to make my hair look this good! i will be highly recommending Ministry of Hair to all my friends and family ... 11th Aug 2011...Ive just got home from having my hair cut & coloured by Shelly... I can only say ***THANK YOU*** the finish results were More than i expected.. My hair looks so good right now im afraid to mess it up by sleeping on it... Thank you Shelly, for listening, recommending, and explaining the steps taken to make my hair look this good! i will be highly recommending Ministry of Hair to all my friends and family ... I have never imagined that my long hair would finally go into delicate hands who knows the mastery of making it presentable without loosing its natural curves. I tried several saloons in Auckland central and none appreciated my long hair. Here at MOH they teach you whole science behind maintaining long hair... worth it. Give it a go --- Ram

Ministry of Hair are fantastic. I always know im going to come out loving the cut & colour. Beth is amazing at listening to what you want, and then offering some suggestions of her own. Her colour skills are second to none, and the cut is always great. I highly recommend Ministry of Hair, and I have been singing your praises all around town! thanks Beth.

I am so impressed with Ministry of Hair's truly fantastic customer service, friendliness, and most importantly with the quality of haircare there! My hair has never looked so good - I'm hooked! They know so well how to cut, colour and style your hair so that it turns out how you asked, and so it suits you. I would recommend Ministry of Hair to anyone who's looking for an exceptional hairdresser!

Being one of their customers pretty much since the time they have started I can vouch that you can expect nothing less than top class service from Ministry of Hair. Hester is best at what she does and hence you can only expect the best results for yourself. Truly awesome!!

To the Man that thinks he has everything Ministry of Hair has been my hairdresser now for two years. While I may be a Westie I can assure all men that it is worth the trip to the city get an appointment. I must say that I was pretty much hooked after the third visit. You may ask me why the third visit and not the first. Well you know guy’s, the first time could just be a fluke when you get an awesome cut and great service to boot. The second time could just be that you feel you are the only one booked for the day so that is why you are getting all the attention. The third is when you realise just how darn good that scalp massage is because you know you can just relax and own the experience for the next 60 minutes. Don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself,

I've been going to Ministry of Hair for some time now; and have to say it's the friendliest, inviting and professional salon I have been to in a very long time. From the moment you walk in the door you feel welcome, you're not just another client; you are you. Hester and the Team know what they are doing; I feel completely safe in their hands, and nearly always will say "do what you feel like doing" when asked what I would like done. I feel safe knowing that they are professionals. Seriously, if you are looking for a great place to get your hair styled, you can't go past them.

I first visited Hester at Ministry of Hair not long after it was established in 2007 as I worked right next door. I was impressed with Hester's honest opinion and ideas with what we could do to my hair. She was able to take me as a walk in and half an hour later I walked away with a new hair style. I have been going to her ever since and her only. I have complete trust in Hester and what is so great is that I am someone who likes to change my hair style and colour every few months. At Ministry of Hair I have never walked away disappointed and always looking unique. My last visit there involved bright purples, pinks and blues - colours Hester knew I would love, and she was totally right. They also use very very good quality products and so I know she is taking the best care of my hair. I would recommend Ministry of Hair to anyone, whether it be for a simple cut, or a fab colouring, definately 2 thumbs up!

I highly recommend Ministry of Hair to anyone looking for a hair stylist in the Auckland CBD. The team are brilliant to deal with, and they always manage to squeeze you in, no matter how short the notice!! I feel totally comfortable letting Hester work with her creative flair and trust that the end result will always look great.

I've been visiting Hester and the Ministry of Hair team for almost a year and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I've got hair which is unpredictable and difficult to manage and Hester has been great (and very patient I might add) at working with me to achieve a hairstyle that is relatively low maintenance but also looks good. Hester also put me on to the Keratin Complex smoothing process they offer and it's really helped control my hair on a day to day basis. Overall, I've found them to be a really friendly salon who genuinely want you to walk away with a hairstyle that you will love and one that is workable between visits to the hairdresser.
