CCS Disability Action Northern Region encompasses the Auckland and Northland branches of CCS Disability Action. We work closely with disabled people and their families/whanau to provide individually designed supports. We also work closely with community to improve access for disabled people, and advocate for their right to participate fully in social recreational and work opportunities in the community of their choice.
We support the New Zealand Disability Strategy, and our work aims to achieve the objectives of the Strategy. You will see references to the 15 Disability Strategy objectives on other pages in our website, linked with services or information that work towards these objectives.
Our mission is to create a better future for people with disabilities - Hei whakaara tahuhu oranga mo te hunga e mau haua ana.
Our role is to support people to:
make informed choices in their lives.
generate increasing levels of inclusion in society.
allow each person the dignity to express themselves;
to experiment, teach and learn.
celebrate diversity and difference.
We provide support through information and advocacy to people of all ages. We ensure that the rights of disabled people are acknowledged and included in all aspects of life. We raise issues politically, make policy submissions and seek to uphold the basic human rights of disabled people.
We welcome contact from anyone who believes that CCS can assist them or their family.
