Tena koe welcome
In 2006-2007, we are grateful to creative nz, for giving us the opportunity to renovate our wharetipuna te rangi mo aho, under the toi ake. Our hapu artist, explored, wananga, and whakawhanau, due to this whare-tipuna. This year, we shall commit ourselves to our second whare-tipuna called kuramihirangi, and bring her also to her former glory.
We are the proud protectors and guardians to one of ngai tuhoe's most prestigious gathering places in new zealand for her people
Host marae for te hui ahurei o tuhoe is the oldest iwi festival in aotearoa which his honour is shared by all marae in ruatoki with more accommodation shared with marae in waimana. An event held for the people of ngai tuhoe every two years, thousands of iwi members meet at te rewarewa marae and te kura o ruatoki for three days of celebrations
A hapu of over 3900 whanau or family members.
Become part of our marae enhancement team whose focus is to bring everyone together to help build our marae into a healthier and safer place for our children and our mokopuna.
The registration form also asks for small contributions towards our enhancement projects. $5.00 a week is all we are asking.
Once our marae is ready for the next 20+ years we will then begin on improving our kaumatua flats.
Our whakapapa is our blood and having this information will be good for our mokopuna. Not many of us realise just how close we actually are until we are told. By having this information available will enhance our whanau's knowledge of our blood line.
Ko te whakawhanaunatanga te anamata o te manatu o te mahurehure hapu. Naku noa hinekura
