•John Bishop is a speaker, writer, journalist, trainer, facilitator, public relations practitioner and media advisor. He writes speeches and also works as an MC and commentator on media and political issues.
•He has particular interests in the media and PR industries and in economic development and social policy. He writes regularly for the National Business Review and other business publications.
•He has an MA (Hons) in politics and post graduate diplomas in management. He worked in the 1970s and 1980s as a journalist in radio and television becoming the Chief Parliamentary Reporter for Television NZ. In the 1990s he worked for Consultus, the Tourism Board and Oligvy & Mather Public Relations where he was Managing Director for New Zealand.
•He later became Corporate Relations Manager for the Electricity Corporation of NZ and subsequently established his own consultancy practice. He has been and office holder in the National Speakers Association and in SMEI, and is one of only two New Zealanders to gain accreditation from the International Association of Business Communicators.
