I have only just started lessons recently with Charles but I could not recommend anyone higher, as others have noted, Charles puts you at ease very fast. He has a unique style of teaching that is very natural and makes sense. I feel more confident after lessons with Charles and I know I have a lot of work ahead of me but I look forward to the challenge. With Charles I know I can only get better and better. Charles was one of my first teacher I had for my voice. He taught me so many techniques on breathing, positioning and improved the quality and the tone of my voice. what more can I say than He's AWESOME!

Charles is great! I enjoy every lesson with him, equally because of his great personality and his ability to teach. He's helped me make the transition from someone who likes to sing to someone others like to hear sing. I have been with him two years now, and while I have definately progressed during that time, he is always pushing me to develop further. If you are interested in taking singing lessons I wouldn't recommend anyone else.

I have always enjoyed singing but have never had the courage to do it. I didn't even know where to start! I have been taking lessons with Charles since last November now and I find that I have made a huge improvement. Charles has given me so much knowledge about the voice and more importantly the confidence to sing in front of other people. I really enjoy attending his lesson every week and I always learn something new. Thanks Charles : )

Charles is an amazing singing teacher. Before I started classes, I thought that my singing was only fit for the showers, but after attending his classes for almost 2 years now, my voice improved significantly that i shocked myself and my family. He has a lot of knowledge and techniques in store for his students and not only that, he is funny and really patient as well, working with each individuals and attending to their different needs in improving the voice. I definitely enjoy and look forward to my singing lessons!

Charles is a serious and professional teacher but also so much fun; he makes me work very hard in the lesson and I feel exhausted by the end but as a beginner I know I am one step further along after each lesson towards singing in front of others. I was extremely shy to sing in front of Charles at the first lesson but he put me at ease immediately - there really is no reason to feel embarassed. He has also made it easy for me to practice by working out a routine and exercises to do. I like the way that Charles explains things - me being a visual person he will describe what we are trying to do in a way that is meaningful to me. For example, comparing the vocal chords to a violin's strings that are played. Thanks, Suzanne

I've always dreamt of being able to sing well. I had lessons with another singing teacher a few years back but got discouraged as I found singing a strain and uncomfortable. I found Charles on an internet search a few months back and decided to give lessons a go again. Its only been 2-3 months but I've been very impressed and surprised at the nice sounds coming out of my mouth. More importantly singing is actually feeling comfortable and natural. Still early days for me, but I certainly recommend giving Charles a go.

Charles is a great teacher. He is very patient and fun, and creates an atmosphere where you really feel at ease singing. As a complete begginner, Charles had a variety of techniques that really helped, is non judgemental, and his love of all things voice is easy and great to see. Highly recommended for anyone contemplating singing lessons.

I have been taking lessons from Charles for the past few months and have both enjoyed the experienced and improved my voice. I have lived under the impression that I have "A Voice for Mime" but Charles has shown me the error in my thinking. I have more confidence and some ability to control my voice. I plan to continue lessons with Charles and hope that my current rate rate of improvement continues.

I have sung with Charles for approx 4 months. I have found that I am starting to sing without straining my voice or having to be the loudest person in the room. I have also found confidnce and a passion for singing that I feared I had lost. Thanks

I am one of Charles newer students and I love going to his lessons each week! There is always something to learn and I am starting to feel a lot more confident now. Charles is a very patient teacher and we always have fun during the lesson. I don't think I could find a better teacher!

I have always loved to sing, but feared getting lessons in case I was told that what I thought was good singing was in fact terrible. However, there is no need to fear that with Charles. He creates a relaxed atmosphere where you can really put your all into the music, knowing you will get helpful and constructive advice that really pays off and leaves you feeling excited to keep singing. After just six months I can already hear the difference in my voice. I can honestly say that I look forward to my lesson as one of the highlights of my week.

I had been taking singing lessons for years before I moved to New Zealand. My career as a singer is very important to me, so when I moved to Wellington I needed someone who could provide me with the high level singing training I wanted to get. Charles was that person. His lessons are fun and friendly, and he also really knows what he is doing. He has set up a method of training that helped me deal with a lot of difficulties I had. I guss what I mean is that Charlie is not only very good at singing but he is also great at teaching other people how to, whether they are beginners or not. He is a really good person and, as of 2010, a really good friend. Pedro D'Agosto

Tena tatou katoa everyone! I started lessons in Oct 2009 after many many many years of singing and performing kapa haka and constantly straining my voice and throat. During my assessment I learnt quickly that everything I had been vocally as a performer was wrong, so I'm in the midst of shaking these bad habits away. Charles' methods and techniques have definitely helped me, and with encouragement during my weekly lesson, after 6 months I felt the improvement in my singing technique, my breathing and the sound and tone of my voice. Admittedly this is a on-going journey and I look forward to developing my vocal skill with Charles' help. Update: 2011 Feb - I would love to re-start lessons with Charles again, unfortunately due to a very heavy work and study schedule, I had to stop my wonderful weekly lesson.

I started learning from Charlie recently, having sung badly for 30 years. I can now hold long notes steadily make them sound much better, and hit notes more accurately. I feel much more confident singing.
