Femme de Brocante was established in July 2006 from a desire for gorgeous fabrics.
Femme de Brocante is the brainchild of Jo and Emily, who wanted to provide top-quality fabrics at affordable prices. Their love of fabric, furniture and interior design, coupled with their desire to bring fabulous affordable fabric to the South Island of New Zealand became a reality in October 2006 when their first shipment of fabric arrived and the shop doors were flung open.
Situated in Rangiora, their showroom is a delight to behold and a treat for those with a fabric fetish. They are committed to supplying you with top quality designer fabrics at heavily discounted prices. All of their fabrics are sourced from Europe and the USA and some would normally retail in New Zealand for up to $200 per metre. However, Femme de Brocante are able to offer you fabrics priced from $25 ' $55 per metre.
These gorgeous fabrics come in a range of colours and designs, ranging from shabby chic and feminine florals, to English country and French provincial-influenced designs. The fabrics are suitable for all manner of soft furnishings, including, but not limited to, curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery.
Best of all, the fabrics are available straight off the roll. Some are regular lines, others are a oeone-off so if you see something you love, it pays to act on impulse, as it may not be there next time you visit.
As well as fabrics, Femme de Brocante have a great range of accessories such as feather cushion inners, cushions, ribbons, bags, aprons, doorstops, and furniture, including some fantastic retro kitchen chairs upholstered in oilcloth.
