4th April 2014 For several years I have been sending all jewellery repairs etc to the Jeweller's Bench in St.Heliers and have always had very successful results and service.
Just recently I have had an old family ring repaired and remodelled. The completed ring was spectacular and a result of superb craftsmanship.
Not only is this item beyond expectation but also the service and communication of both jewellwers and staff has to be very highly recommended.

27th February 2012 Have been a few times. I waited 20 mins on Saturday to be served. Rude staff. Have been there three times in 2 years thinking I was unlucky to get them on an "off day" but seems that its just the management style of the company. They never fail to disappoint me with their repairs and service.

27th August 2011 They won't admit they broke my watch, and now I have to pay for the repairs!
On August 18th I dropped my watch into The Jeweller's Bench to have two new loops fitted. (The 'circles' that hold down the band.) No big deal - an easy job that would take just 24 hours.
When I picked it up, I noticed the winder had been pulled 'out' and had been left in the wind position.
Also, the stopwatch hand was off 12 o'clock, indicating the stopwatch had been started and either stopped manually, or started then left to run until the watch stopped altogether.
Both a bit disconcerting when all I asked them to do was replace the loops.
Anyway, I paid for the new loops ($25) and left. Then I set the time and wound the watch.
However ... the stopwatch hand would not re-set to 12 o'clock. And, more alarmingly, as I tried starting, stopping and re-setting the stopwatch hand, it WOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL about every third time.
So I returned the watch to The Jeweller's Bench. The person who took it was nice and apologetic and said she would ask the repair person if anything had been done to the mechanisms.
Next morning I got a call from the manager. He told me that no-one had touched the mechanisms on my watch, they had only replaced the loops, and that my watch had "not been dropped, or anything like that."
He then admitted that, well, someone had in fact tried wind it. That's why the winder had been pulled out. But it was not wound back in again, because "it's a complicated mechanism". Really??
So why was the stopwatch function engaged? An accidental push of the button during the repair of the band? Perhaps. Understandable, even.
But why does it now work only intermittently?
And why does the stopwatch return button now NOT WORK AT ALL??
I think someone has tried to wind the watch, not known how (a bit inconceivable??), and then turned the knob and pushed the stopwatch buttons trying to fix it. And this has broken the mechanism.
However, I will never know.
Because the manager says nobody there touched any of the mechanisms.
Well, apart from admitting that someone had attempted to wind it.
Oh, and apart from the fact that the stopwatch function had been engaged.
So, other than pulling or pushing the ALL 3 BUTTONS on the outside of the watch ... they had not touched any of the mechanisms.
And, as he said, my watch had "not been dropped, or anything like that."
So I will never know how my watch was damaged.
And because he did not think it was their fault I will have to pay to fix it.
I will not be going back there. If asked, I would not recommend them to anyone else. Simply because I am not sure they are entirely truthful.
