Unfortunately I walked out of Silver Surfers at the Palm Beach Plaza with my 8yr old daughter's ear pierced on the wrong angle. One side was fine, the other a mistake where the butterfly wouldn't attach and fell to the floor. A new one was eventually attached. I account for human error. I didn't count on the unprofessional manner in which the situation was then dealt with. I had requested a refund in mind to have the ear re-pierced elsewhere but was instead banned from every shopping there again. A little more care taken in the procedures of piercing (especially children) would be of benefit. Improvements in communication between staff and communication with customers is essential to avoid this type of disaster repeating in the future.

Miss Kay, If you remember a little more correctly you were offered a re piercing. The reason the piercing was crooked was because you insisted your daughter be pierced in the body piercing room when we always pierce ears and noses on the stool. So the piercing was performed in a different area at a different height. The girls aimed to please you. You decided that your eight year old could not be pierced in public. We would have pierced more than 20,000 ear and noses on that stool. We tried to please you further by offering you a re piercing but you decided whatever we offered would be traumatizing and refused our help. Your lack of respect for us and our techniques was a big part in causing the error. The abuse you gave towards my staff was unacceptable and lead you to get a ban from our store. If you had respected our knowledge and our training instead of knowing better than us, then the crooked piercing would never happen in the first place. There is always a possibility of human error and we are always sorry if we make an error. We always offer to put it right. You sign a consent form. We do take all care.
