We undertook a review and investigated the above incident and concluded that our service indeed breached its own service delivery expectations. Again our apologies. What would have being helpful would have being for you our organisation to make contract on the following Monday, and your concerns dealt effectively. This would have been preferable then leaving the complaint on a blog site for infinity, and there be no resolve to your obvious distress. We are a conflict resolution organisation and would have liked to have being able to have addressed this matter.

18th September 2011 I rang your service on Saturday night 17/9/11 in regard to information gathering for one of our clients here in Christchurch. The person that answered the phone answered "WHAT!" in a loud grumpy voice.It was clear she was not expecting a call from the public- well thats how it appeared. I was taken aback and thought I had the wrong number but upon further discussion found out that the person answering was on duty. I thought maybe I had got the safehouse and one of the clients was answering but she assured me she was a Refuge worker. There was a child screaming and crying in the background and I struggled to have a conversation with her because of the noise the child was making. I thought she sounded like she needed to attend to the child rather than talk on the phone but she was insistant I continue talking to her. I was unimpressed with the tone and unprofessional manner the phone was answered with. There was no apology forthcoming for the manner she answered with.
