The coffee is the best of a bad bunch around ellerslie. The food is nice but quite expensive for what it is. I'd avoid going here at peak times as it gets really busy making the service quite slow. And it's really loud!!!! But the staff are always really friendly.

The coffee at Trends Cafe in Ellerslie is great. But don't bother heading there around 9am in the morning. The wait for coffee is shocking. They must know that there is an onslaught every morning at the same time, yet nothing is done to speed the delivery process up. Shame really .. Losing a bit of custom from a bunch of us because of this.

Trends is a very popular place for a coffee (although watch who makes it, as it is often burnt/bitter) their food however is pretty top notch and I've enjoyed a few working lunches here. It's handy to a lot of places, although parking can be tight at times.

A local cafe that is known for its superb coffee in the area. We also had a beautiful breakfast there one morning, lots of variety on the menu at a really good price. They were very accomodating too when we arrived as a group with no booking, they put tables together for us outside. Nice!

Coffee is great... and the French Toast is my favourite. I've tried French Toast at a lot of cafes but this is the best! Great that they offer gluten free bread too.

Don't forget the cinnamon brioche's (not great for the diet) with the best coffee around. The new outdoor heaters make it a good place to hang out, protected behind the plastic walls.

From all the coffee places in Ellerslie area this one stands out by far. It seems like EVERYONE wants to get a coffee from this place. It can be a bit of a wait in the mornings, but it's worth it. Their coffee is consistently good. My favourtie food item is a chicken or salami sandwich with home made aioli sauce, mmmmm.... The staff are fun and friendly, alway get to know the locals. It's a great place for team meetings too.

The best coffee in the area by far! Worth the wait... The place of choice for team brunches, Trends caters for all of our quirks, will happily accommodate glutin free and vegan needs, and the more ravenous appetites too! For me its always a tough choice between the burrito on the breakfast menu or the udon noodle stirfry on the lunch side. Everything is just fab!!

Always great coffee here - the best I've found in Ellerslie. Top marks for their breakfasts and lunches too. Their ultimate breakfast is really tasty and a generous size. One of the few places that lures me away from the Auckland waterfront for brunch.

Great local cafe which serves the best coffee in the area! Great selection of cabinet food and an array of menu food. My favourite is breakfast - the breakfast burrito is delicious!! I am also partial to the hashbrown stack.

As my local, I may be bias, but Trends Cafe offers everything I could ask for in a cafe... The staff are friendly; the coffee is always good whether you have it there or take it away; they have a good selection of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and the cabinet food is tasty and quick - I recommend the egg or chicken and cranberry sammies! And, the menu is AWESOME! They changed it at the end of 2009 and now...! I had the Chorizo and Calamari Scrolls on a bed of mesculin salad - oh my gosh I would eat it every day!!! That, or the Chicken Linguine, yum! They also have a range of baked good, which are so tempting, and having tried most of them, I can safely say they're all delicious (white chocolate brownie is tops...) Trends Cafe has a really lovely atmosphere, chic decor, indoor and sheltered outdoor areas, and good music... At the end of the day, it's simply a pretty damn good cafe :)
