27th July 2011 My previous unfavourable review was removed so I am replacing it with this one. We had a Golden Home built by Gillies Construction approx two years ago. It may be possible that due to staff changes or changes in the way the company operates things may have changed in the last two years however our experience with the Golden Homes/Gillies Construction was not very favourable. In our opinion we would caution anyone to think very hard before going ahead with a build. We have also found since that many of the fittings used in the house (toilet cisterns etc) to be quite cheap and inferior.

5th October 2009 I would not recommend using this company (Golden Homes/Gillies Construction). Our build with them was a complete fiasco almost right from the start. Apart from going through several project managers we were also mislead about work carried out and costs etc. The General Manager even made incorrect claims about plans having being lodged with the city council when they hadn't. Absolutely unprofessional bunch. In my opinion it would be extremely unwise/risky to build with them.
