20th December 2011 I took my 3 adult children to dinner there after none of us could decide what we wanted. It was a perfect choice. We could all have our favourite type of meal, from the best Bombay pizza to fish to a yummy salad. Fabulous service at a very reasonable price.
GPK's Takapuna Restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy great food and beverage.
Our specially selected wine list contains a selection of some of New Zealand tastiest wines which can be paired perfectly with one of our Pacific infused dishes or goumet woodfired pizzas from the extensive menu.
20th October 2014 This was the worst meal my friends and I have ever been served.
I got the Chicken Burger - the buns were stale.
One of my friends got the Eggs Benedict - the egg was overcooked and there was a 1.5cm chunk of melted plastic in the sauce.
My sister's Smoked Chicken Salad appeared fine, however she had the symptoms of food poisoning later on and barely slept that night. While I obviously can't directly blame GPK, it does seem like a likely possibility that they were the cause.
We didn't have to pay for the burger or eggs benedict, so at least they handled that well, but I'll never be able to forgive them for serving us such incredibly badly prepared food.

10th October 2014 I was quite concerned having read some of the reviews prior to eating at GPK Takapuna with my Treat Me voucher, but I needn't have worried. It was awesome, with the food back to its best (their fillet steak has always been a favourite)! The service was fast and friendly and we rolled out extremely full and satisfied. Based on what we ate and seeing/smelling the delicious pork belly and the duck mains the diners at the table next to us - I would have no hesitation in going back again! Well done GPK Takapuna for pulling your socks back up :-)

23rd September 2012 I would never ever return to this restaurant again!!! I purchased a Grab One Voucher; pay $50 for $100 worth of food for a 3 course meal for two. My friend and I went to the restaurant and I asked the waiter if I could swap the entree (entree prices ranged from $11-$16) for bread ($5) instead as I didn't like the choices on offer however the manager said no. I thought ok not very flexible but it is a set menu. However my two biggest complaints are that the mains where only 1/2 portions and the dessert was 1 x creme brulee and 1 x chocolate brownie both the size of a $2 coin brought out on the same plate for my friend and I too share. I like my friend very much but A) I do not want to share a dessert with her where you have to double dip spoons from mouth to dessert and B) the portions where ridiculously small. I spoke to the manager about the portion sizes of the meals and he agreed that the owner of the restaurant had told the chefs to take the normal size meals and 1/2 the portions for the Grab One Deal. So even though the voucher was pay $50 for $100 worth of food you were paying $50 for $50 worth of food due to the portion sizes being reduced. Also the pork belly was one of the worst tasted, very dry and the time from being served to food on the table was very long.

We would like to invite you back to GPK by offering a voucher for you to use. Could you please forward your details to gpkfunctions@gpk.co.nz. Thank you again.

26th August 2012 We dined at the Takapuna restaurant last night.
Our drinks order was taken - in nearly 4 hours this was the only time.
The waitering staff seemed inexperienced - laying the cutlery after the meals had been delivered and not bringing or asking if I wanted tomato sauce with my fries.
We were asked if we were in a hurry - after saying no it took over an hour for the meals to arrive. Obviously the store was busy so we were relieving some pressure on the staff. But not once were we asked for another drink or given something complementary to chew over while waiting for the mains to arrive.
Oh the 2 fish specials and 2 pizza's were cold.
For this bad service and food the only discount we received was that from the Entertainment Book.

20th September 2010 Lunch special for $25 (2 courses and glass of wine) is great value. The frites and pumpkin soup are great. The morroccan pizza is one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. Really good service.

28th August 2010 The service here is hard to beat, particularly in Takapuna. The menu has a selection for everyone (including a good vegetarian selection). The wine list is top-notch and the staff are great at suggesting good wines to go with your meal. My greatest criticism is that they don't change their menu very often so it can get a bit boring if you frequent it regularly. They do a good value $25 lunch menu which inludes a wine, choice of 3 entrees and 3 mains. All in a good restaurant at the pricier end of the Takapuna market.
