Neighbourhood Trust is the community arm of St Albans Baptist. The Trust was set up to fulfil the needs of the surrounding community not being met by other organisations.
It runs programmes for families, older adults and after-school and holiday programmes at 3 local schools. It also publishes the monthly community newspaper, 'The Mairehau', which is home delivered to 2,300 homes.
The Trust runs ante-natal classes, new parents' groups, parenting programmes, courses in budgeting, divorce care and coping with redundancy. It also has a full programme for the over 55s, including bus trips, meals, morning teas with guest speakers, and a foot clinic.
Our dream is to have a fully resourced parenting centre.
The Trust now has upskilling in computers for young mums and people made redundant and tutoring in reading, writing, spelling and maths for young adults (under 24s).
A free nurse health clinic runs for a half day every Wednesday.
