23rd August 2010 When we got there we were unsure where to sit as all the lights down the stairs were off so we went back up stairs and pulled two tables together. It was cold but they were nice enough to put the fire on once we had asked. The waitress was a bit slow and sat on the couch the whole time. They have a good selection of drinks and were able to cater to our needs. The food was ok. What you would expect. Over all it was a nice place for a cheap meal. Would go again if I was looking for another cheap meal.
On the fringe of Mt Eden in Auckland The Thirsty Whale offers variety and versatility to many: a place to eat and have a coffee, a venue for entertainment and late night party weekends or simply a place to relax with friends over a few drinks.
The quality of the establishment, coupled with its pioneering spirit - the area was previously "dry" - have made The Thirsty Whale a welcome respite for residents and visitors alike. Welcome and we hope to see you soon!
